Executive Lunch

The United Way of Washtenaw County and the Young Leaders Society will be hosting our first Executive Lunch on Jan 19th, 2011 at the Bell Tower Hotel.
The lunch will be the first in a series of community executive networking opportunities. Several speakers will briefly address the group and be available to meet before and after. The event is effort to discuss the work of the Young Leaders Society and opportunities to get involved in the community. 
Speakers:
William Brinkeroff -- A co-founder
of Cerenis. Previously he was Vice President of Business Development at
Esperion, overseeing all strategic partnering activities prior to the Company’s
acquisition. Mr. Brinkerhoff has more than 20 years of commercial and
management experience. Prior to joining Esperion, he oversaw U.S. business
development, market planning and sales operations for Sankyo, a leading
Japanese pharmaceutical company. 
Peter F. Schork
-- As President and Chief Operating Officer of Ann Arbor State Bank, Mr. Schork
brings with him more than 25 years of private banking, commercial real estate,
administration and mortgage lending experience. From 1982 until 1998, he
served as Vice President for Private Banking, Branch Administration and
Mortgage Lending at Key Bank. In 1998, he made the move to Bank of Ann Arbor
where he was First Vice President for Personal Banking, Branch Administration,
and Retail and Wholesale Mortgage Lending until 2005. Peter Schork also gained
extensive real estate experience with the Surovell Companies where he was
President and Co-Founder of Surovell Settlement and Title Services Agency; Vice
President for Edward Surovell Realtors; and, Manager and Co-Founder of Surovell
Financial (Mortgage) Company from 2005 to 2008.
Doug Gross -- Doug has an
impressive track record in financial planning. After earning a Ba in accounting
from Alma College, he launched his career as a Cpa with Arthur Young, now Ernst
and Young.  Doug then went on to work for Eastman Kodak and Malloy
Lithographing, building skills in sales and management. After receiving an MBA
from the University of Michigan, he worked as a financial planner for A.G.
Edwards before establishing his branch office of Raymond James Financial
Services in March of 1996. Manager of the Saline branch of Raymond James. Doug earned his
CERTIFIED Financial PLANNERTM certification in 1998. For four
consecutive years, he has been recognized by Raymond James as a member of their
President's Council* based on his production, and professional
growth. He has also served on panels at Raymond James educational conferences
and has made presentations to local groups on a wide range of investment
topics. 
 
David Behen Vice President, InfoReady
David is responsible for the Public Sector Practice that offers new technology, web-based and information-driven solutions and services to local and state governments and educational institutions. He brings experience from a distinguished career of over 14 years in public service with Washtenaw County, Michigan. David has been a leader in driving technology improvements for a more efficient and transparent government. He has been named twice to the prestigious CIO 100 list of the top 100 It programs by CIO Magazine, and Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40” list for outstanding professional achievement before the age of forty. He spearheaded the popular and successful Wireless Washtenaw effort two years ago to provide free or low-cost high-speed Internet access to the entire county through a public-private effort. Washtenaw County has been named six times as one of the nation’s Top Ten Digital Counties by the Center for Digital Government with the National Association of Counties (NACo).
David has served as co-chair for the CIO Council for Public Technology Institute (Pti), the national non-profit research and technology organization based in Washington DC. He is presently serving on the Governing Board for the Regional Leadership Forum for the Society for Information Management (Sim). Mr. Behen holds a Master of Science in Public Administration Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
 
 
 
 
The mission of the Young Leaders Society is to promote and encourage the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among the young residents of Washtenaw County and other individuals with similar professional and community interests. Members of the United Way Young Leaders Society are committed, compassionate and generous individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact throughout our community.
The event will run from 12:00 pm to 1:15 pm
