Heather McHugh is Pollock Professor of Poetry at the University of Washington. Of her many books of translation, poetry, and essays, the most recent are Upgraded to Serious, Glottal Stop (poems of Paul Celan, with co-translator Nikolai Popov), and Broken English: poetry and partiality. In 2012 she founded the non-profit CAREGIFTED, which supports respite services for long-term full-time family caregivers (http://caregifted.org/).
