to
4:30p
University of Michigan: Matthaei Botanical Gardens
Ann Arbor,
MI
Experience an exhibition of photographs of African American folk gardens taken by artist Vaughn Sills. In the spirit of outsider and folk art traditions, these gardens capture a unique cultural aesthetic that is disappearing from the American landscape. Gardens from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina are represented along with their creators. Jan. 18-March 10. Free admission.
