Walker, a daughter of former slaves who in the 1900s created a multinational company from the ground up, selling natural hair and beauty products to African-American women, and giving other women the opportunity to make their own fortune selling her products door-to-door.This presentation is part of a series of programs, The Gilded Age to the Great War: America at the Turn of the Century.
