John Bowditch, director of exhibits emeritus at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, describes the enormous changes to music at the turn of the century, influenced by demographic shifts, changing social conventions and new technologies. He will share actual historic recordings of key songs to sonically illustrate this history. This presentation is part of a series of programs, The Gilded Age to the Great War: America at the Turn of the Century.
