kings of addiction:
it was less than one year ago when these three life long friends, a systems engineer, an account executive and a master's graduate, made a creative decision to share their passion for electronic dance music with friends and the rest of the world. their roots can be easily traced back to the 80's and 90's with inspiration being drawn from the alternative sounds of depeche mode, the prodigy, underworld, the cure and crystal method, just to name a few. in 1999, their passion for electronic dance music was fueled with an introduction to british superstar dj's paul oakenfold, carl cox and local canadian sensations, richie hawtin and john acquaviva.
in early 2008, mark roznawski launched new addiction radio, which turned out to be the first building block for the kings of addiction. this one hour mix show, downloaded globally, has just recorded it's 50th episode and is now available as a podcast at www.kingsofaddiction.com.
after spending many long nights in the studio and behind the deck's at afterhours clubs, koa's hard work started to pay off. in the summer of 2009, they landed a residency at one of north america's premiere nightclubs "the boom boom room" and their productions really started to showcase koa's signature "sexy progressive & dirty techno" sound.
the trio's first release entitled midnight visions feat enton mushi's remix was signed to denver colorado's velcro city records and is now available at beatport.com. with a second release scheduled for early march, more original tracks and remixes on the way, you can bet that 2010 should be a phenomenal year for the kings of addiciton.
