The reopening of The London Chop House has generated a lot of nostalgia.
That obscures something, though. Yes, it was once without competition as the place to see and be seen in Detroit — a hangout for the city's power brokers and visiting celebrities during the '60s, '70s. But for a while in the '80s, the original Chop House wasn't really an elegant place.
