This presentation will outline the military history of Alonzo M. Keeler, Company B, Twenty-second Michigan Infantry, including his capture by confederate forces at the Battle of Chickamauga and spending the next year and a half as their “guest”. Alonzo kept daily diaries of his experiences during this time period which gives us a unique insight into what it was like to be a prisoner during the Civil War.
