FitTest at the Fieldhouse

McLaren Macomb s Athletic Medicine Institute invites student athletes and their parents to attend FitTest at the Fieldhouse, a health and fitness event on Saturday, December 1, 2012, from noon to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse, at 45300 Mound Road, near M-59 in Shelby Township. FitTest at the Fieldhouse is $5 for participating student athletes. Parents are encouraged to attend at no charge.
Highlights of this event will include:
Video analysis of sport-specific body mechanics… Show more . Using video to capture the athlete in motion, this analysis can help improve the student athlete s mechanics/performance.
Agility T-test. Student athletes will move as quickly as possible to accurately hit physical marks, moving foward as well as backward.
Vertical jump. Participants can get a true reading of their vertical leap capabilities using the same equipment college athletes use to assess jump height.
In addition, FitTest at the Fieldhouse will offer free clinical screenings especially for student athletes, including:
Lung function screening
Heart screening/EKG
Parents must sign a consent form and be present for screenings.
All health screenings and athletic testing will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required to attend this event.
