Great time on the river, even during the colder months

Myhusband and I wandered into Portofino for drinks and an appetizer a few nights ago. Though the parking lot was full, we were relieved to see that all the cars were the result of a few banquets going on in the surrounding banquet halls. We were seated immediately in a comfy booth just a level above the window seating. Our server Amanda offered us a few tips on navigating the immense wine list and we were very pleased with our selection of Beaujolais Nouveau. While we had only planned on nibbling on a few appetizers, she informed us about their great seafood specials and we couldnt resist ordering dinner as well as the calamari ,which was different from the round chewy bits we find at most restaraunts in the area. Overall we were most impressed with the casual, yet upper class dining experience. From now on, we will be visiting Portofino all year round, not only when the weather is nice out.
